Location

The Shores Holiday Apartments are located on the beachfront at Blacks Beach, just 15 kilometres north of Mackay's City Heart.

We are just 10 minutes drive from Mt Pleasant Shopping Centre and five minutes from Mackay Golf Club, the Northern Beaches Bowls Club and the Northern Leagues Club.

There is a Chinese restaurant, bakery, fish & chips take away shop, hairdresser, and mini supermarket just a short walk from The Shores Holiday Apartments. The Blacks Beach Tavern with a bistro, bottle shop and TAB is a 10 minute walk away.

Mackay’s climate is both enviable and renowned. The Mackay region is on nearly the same latitude as the Hawaiian Islands, and enjoys superb weather all year round.

The atmosphere is relaxed and casual and so is the clothing. Lightweight clothing is suitable most of the year, with something a little warmer required for winter evenings. The waters remain at a constant 20 to 22 degrees Celsius.

Mackay is situated approximately half way between Brisbane and Cairns on the Central Coast of Queensland.
Getting to Mackay is easy. All major airlines service Mackay with direct flights from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Alternatively you can travel by train, bus or motor vehicle. A number of car hire companies also operate in Mackay.

Mackay is close to several National Parks. Eungella National Park, which renown for its small platypus colony along Broken River, Cape Hillsborough National Park, where the tropical rainforest meets the sea and wallaby's and scrub turkeys wander along the beach, as well as the world renowned Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. There are many tourism operators that can show you this wonderful region.
